When making your survival kit, bug out bag, or home preparedness survival cache, you need to have some idea of the contingencies you are planning for. Going over a large list of disasters and other situations compiled by experienced survival experts and entusiasts can really give you plenty to think about.

- Ability to build a fire abd maintain it.
- Personal Protection
- Tools
- First Aid materials and the expertise to use them
