Credit Card Purchases Expose Your Lifestyle
What is particularly troublesome is that not only retailers use the information gleaned from your credit cards to track your purchases and lifestyle.
I remember reading that the state of Vermont (a sales tax state) has access to and tracks credit card purchases made by Vermonter’s at New Hampshire businesses (a bordering no sales tax state). Many Vermonters think they are putting one over on their state by avoiding sales taxes in this way, only to be surprised when they receive an unexpected big tax bill from the state for that purchase.
The State of Vermont has access to credit card purchases made in New Hampshire. Who else views your credit card information?
Considering the Vermont sales tax is 6%, the purchase of a $5000 riding lawnmower results in an additional unforeseen tax of $300 bucks. Add 6% to all that other stuff these “tax evaders” are not declaring and Vermont has another wonderful way of redistributing your wealth to themselves, for the public good of course.
Beyond tax evasion and the legal and financial implications of not paying the mob government its cut of protection money taxes from your hard earned money, credit card purchases give out something potentially more valuable to the powers that watch you; your lifestyle.
Have you been making large purchases of food in preparation for SHTF? What about all that ammunition or the new survival knife? If you have been using your credit cards to make these purchases then somewhere down the road you may be in for a special visit from thugs government officials.
You see, come SHTF by law the government can confiscate your preparations for distribution to those who did not have the foresight or were too lazy to prepare for themselves. Of course it is likely government officials will keep the choicest bits of your preparedness cache for themselves the public good so you can feel good about that at least.
You will likely be stripped of your arms and ammo stocks and other means of self defence in order to protect the despotic government public, and perhaps be targeted for special treatment and surveillance as a potential trouble maker who has plans to fend for himself and defend his personal freedoms.
Eliminate Your Credit Cards
Indeed, the powers that be can learn a great deal about you from the purchases you make using credit cards. One way to limit the knowledge they can gain about your lifestyle and survival preparations is to limit your use of credit cards or better yet eliminate the threat altogether by never using credit cards for any purchase again.

True stuff. But despite that, I have just purchased some firesteel and paracord from this site. John is also right, Paypal is no better.
I don't think we need to stop purchasing online entirely -- but perhaps limit our spending to sites like this who deserve it, and buy the rest locally with cash? Rather than buying all our gear from Amazon and the likes.

I only buy firearms and ammo from private sellers same goes for reloading equipment as there is no paper trail for the most part. Bulk food is paid in cash also. small items like firesteel i would use my credit-debit card for as i do not think I would end up on the Governments places to go and people to see list when the S does HTF.

sorry i forgot to put this in my last comment. I went to Clarksville Tenn the other weekend to pick something up from someone and decided i would stay at motel to get a good nights sleep. I could not find one that would let me pay cash without getting all my credit card info first. I could not even give them an extra bill or two till morning to make sure I did not trash the room. No credit card NO stay period. Long story short I drove home.

I agree with what you say here, but where do you go to buy that new survival knife, or other specialty survival gear? For many top quality brands and items, the only place to buy them is the internet, and you have to have a credit card to shop on the internet. If you think PAYPAL is any better you are fooling yourself.
