Your Favorite Music for Doing Battle
More Articles Related to MusicNow here is something different: What’s your music in the battle for survival? In other words, when TSHTF what music would you play as you beat off the attackers?
Of course the usual heavy metal bands have made their mark in this post. Metallica, AC/DC and a host of other battle worthy bands.
My personal choice might be General George Custer's 7th Cavalry's "Gary Owen", and was surprised to see another poster made that his choice also. But let us not forget what just could be the Mother of All Battle Songs (MABS) - The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Someone listed Beethoven's 9th symphony. But perhaps the biggest surprise entry for best battle song? "Give Peace A Chance" by John Lennon!

My choice would have to be 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy.
encinitas
Battle song by Ensiferum
Toronto
My favourite war related song is Edwin Starr's 1970 version of the anti-war song - "War".
Texas
Blackened by Metallica
Canada
Eve of Destruction by the Rev. Barry McGuire. Emperor Symphony by Beetoven. Both are music that make you sit and think, rather than get up and do something. The best battles you can fight are those that you carefully plan, and avoid activities that put you into danger needlessly. They also need be easy to hum or sing along to.
Kansas
"March of Cambreadth". Anything with bagpipes and drums gets it going.
Canada
Come Clean - Hillary Duff
NW Ohio
I would have to say "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen. Another good choice is "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'n Roses.
Utah
"Desire the End" by Zao
Southern Republic of Kalifornia
Anything by Rammstein.
Honolulu, HI
A country boy can survive. "I've got a shotgun, a rifle and a four-wheel drive and a country boy can survive...."
Vilnius, Lithuania
Ensiferum - Into Battle, maybe Hero in a Dream
California
Anything by Rage Against The Machine gets me amped up, but a lot of it is too political to be flexible with any situation.
Top choice I think would have to go to the theme song from the movie 'Requiem for a Dream'. YouTube it if you've never heard it before. I think it fits the sound of struggling hard to survive no matter what your foe is.
PA
#1 "Keep On Rocking In the Free World" by Neil Young, #2 "The Shot Heard 'Round the World" by School House Rock
Appalacians
I might have 2+2=5 by Radiohead playing whilst beating off the masses.
Charlotte, NC
If people are shooting at me, I doubt I'd be singing to myself! If I'm in a survival situation, I'd go with native American music - rhythmic chanting and drums. This would help me stay in control and relax.
Metro Detroit
Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyrie"! If you're unfamiliar with this piece, you can hear it as performed on that great American film classic: "Apocalypse Now".
CT
No one mentioned "Flight of the Valkyries".
georgia
Toss up between Rally round the flag boys, and scotland the brave.
western australia
dirty deeds by AC/DC.
Ohio
I Hear Them All by The Old Crow Medicine Show or The Hand Of the Almighty by Ralph Stanley. But favorite battle music would be Gods Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash.
Kentucky
Miami Fl
Warriors Of The World by Manowar.
Alaska
Little Fugue in g minor-by Johann Sebastion Bach
linconlshire England
Two choices here depending on the situation, number one is more a motto for survival in general and would have to be Peter Gabrial & kate bush's "Dont giv up", and number two when in battle would have to be "should I stay or should I go" by The Clash.
Paranoia Central
My playlist would have to include Conflict, Violence Fetish and Down With The Sickness from Disturbed, Sons of Odin by Manowar, and Requiem For a Dream. Let's get psycho / inspiring!
flight of the bumble bee :-D
USA
There'd be 3 possiblities: Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, or J.S. Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D minor, the latter as performed & recorded by E. Power Biggs, unless SHTF while I was at church and I decided to play it myself (yeah, I happen to be an organist).
Hampton, VA
'The Trooper'- Iron Maiden
'Die With Your Boots On' - Iron Maiden
Jacksonville, FL
Hatebreed - "I Will Be Heard"
Brazil
Well,I'd go with "A World at War",or "Fight fo Freedoms",both by MaestroRage. Also would be nice to hear "Encounter",by Gregson-Willians or "Battle in the Jungle",by Norihiko Hibino.
